The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
