A woman indicted with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly recorded her a recorded message which asked: "imagine I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, 24, who a jury heard has repeatedly claimed she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial accused with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the court was told communication data and data recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout that period.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported missing child cases and remains unresolved.
A separate recorded message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not crucial for you?"
"I don't want money, I possess a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.
The panel was told that via electronic messages, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a effort to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the evidence, advised the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with family friends of the McCanns, based on the call data.
On that date, the father answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."
That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I won't give up and I plan to establish my point."
The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a association via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a trip to the McCanns' home in that area in last December.
Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period leading up to the appearance to that location, that area, in that winter.
The court learned message exchanges between the two accused, in November 2024, considering attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from utensils at a eating establishment.
"We need to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.
On the evening of the appearance to their residence, Mrs Spragg sent a communication which said: "We're currently sitting near the McCanns' home with our lights out like private investigators. I wanted to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."
The proceedings ongoing.
