Passionate followers of the actress are calling for that a individual who breached a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A viral video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the event by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram feed includes clips of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.
"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.
Numerous followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more message on Instagram.
Some fans also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos.
In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.
Hundreds of supporters had congregated in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.
The film, to be premiered on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film adaptation of the well-known stage production Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely friendship between two distinct characters.
The show itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, earning two for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
