The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, its gifted performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards during the ceremony.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—determined by critics.
